This fund raising event has grown to 550 participating athletes from near and far. Athletes must register for this event. The finish line is located at the Lighthouse, at the top of Turtle Hill. Family and friends gather to celebrate with the athletes. The awards ceremony includes trophies, gift raffles and a post race continental breakfast. Click here to register.

Admission prices are $9 for adults (ages 13 to 61), $8 for Senior Citizens (62 and older), $4 for children 41 inches in height up to age 12. Children under 41 inches in height are free but may not climb the tower nor may they be carried up the tower. Please be advised that NY State Department of Parks charges a parking fee.

HOLIDAY LIGHTS ON THE MONTAUK LIGHTHOUSE
The Lighthouse Committee of the Montauk Historical Society has announced the Lighting of the Montauk Lighthouse. Looks Great Services, specialists in decorating large structures, will once again adorn the Lighthouse Tower and Museum with thousands of white lights for the holiday season.
On November 24, 2012, the Saturday of Thanksgiving Weekend, the Lighthouse Lighting will take place between 4:30 PM and 7 PM. The rain date will be December 1, 2012. Parking and admission to the lighthouse grounds are free.
The celebration will include holiday music and caroling. Santa has also promised to make an appearance. The lights will be turned on by a special guest. The lights will remain on every night until Sunday, January 1, 2013.

Betsy White, President of the Montauk Historical Society said, “This is our gift to Montauk and the entire Long Island community.”
The Lighthouse Committee is chaired by Richard F. White Jr., Treasurer of the Montauk Historical Society. Other committee members are Betsy White, Eleanor Ehrhardt, Greg Donohue, Joe Gaviola, Ed Michels, Robert Schorr and Dave Webb. The event Site Managers are Tricia Wood and Brian Pope.

This event is scheduled for Sunday, November 25th, weather permitting. The Lighthouse will be decorated for the holiday. Hot cider and snacks will be served. The Gift Shop will be opening for holiday shopping. Pony rides will be available for young children, and children can be photographed with a jolly Santa. Admission to the museum is free during this event. The tower climb will be closed.
